Energy Aspects acquires MMSA with support from GCS

Headquartered in Singapore, MMSA has established itself as the pre-eminent source of data, insights, and market intelligence for global methanol markets. The firm has developed a strong reputation for the rigour of its analysis, particularly in the areas of supply/demand forecasting, price outlooks, and low-carbon methanol, and is a trusted partner to producers, traders and end-users worldwide.
The acquisition broadens Energy Aspects’ offering to clients with an expanded range of intelligence across critical commodity markets. MMSA’s clients, in turn, will benefit from access to Energy Aspects’ proprietary datasets and research, enhancing their use of comprehensive, data-driven market intelligence.
This is the second buy-side acquisition for which GCS has supported Energy Aspects, following our work on its acquisition of OilX in 2022. GCS are proud to continue supporting Energy Aspects as they build the leading global platform for energy intelligence.
GCS’s work on the MMSA transaction focused on assessing the company’s market positioning, client base, and growth potential, as well as the strategic fit with Energy Aspects’ existing portfolio.
The GCS team on the transaction was led by James Tetherton and Linda Wei.
