Fargo Group acquires intermodal software specialist IXOLUTION with support from GCS

GCS is pleased to have provided Commercial Due Diligence to Fargo Group on its acquisition of IXOLUTION, the Netherlands-based intermodal transport management software provider.

Founded in 2013 and headquartered near Rotterdam, IXOLUTION provides the IXSuite intermodal transport management platform, supporting transport planning, terminal operations and rail cargo logistics for logistics customers across 12 countries. The business brings an established European intermodal customer base, deep domain expertise and a proven, deeply embedded pan-European software platform to Fargo Group.

The acquisition marks the first step in Fargo Group's European expansion strategy, establishing new bases in the Netherlands and Germany and extending its intermodal footprint across the North Sea, Benelux and Germany corridor. It strengthens the group's ability to serve international customers operating across increasingly connected and complex UK-EU intermodal supply chains, as operators face growing pressure to coordinate transport, rail, barge, terminal and yard activities in real time. Co-founders Ton Stuit and Kornee Sterrenburg will both continue in their existing roles.

GCS carried out a comprehensive CDD review, assessing IXOLUTION's market positioning, growth potential, customer base, and the scalability of its technology and go-to-market model.

The GCS team on the transaction was led by Phil Craig and Matt Harrison, working alongside Ollie Reynolds and the team at August Equity, and Darren Palfrey and the team at Fargo.

This engagement builds on GCS's strong track record in logistics and supply chain software, underlining our role in supporting high-growth technology businesses and their investors at key inflection points in their journey.
