Energy Aspects acquires satellite intelligence specialist Kayrros with support from GCS

GCS is pleased to have provided Commercial Due Diligence to Energy Aspects on its acquisition of Kayrros, the Paris-based energy analytics and satellite data company.
Founded in 2016, Kayrros is a world leader in energy and environmental intelligence, using AI, advanced machine learning and geoanalytics to turn raw data from more than 20 satellite constellations into actionable insights across energy, supply chains, physical climate risk and environmental monitoring. Its geospatial intelligence capabilities enable clients to track actual activity on the ground in near real time, providing verified, ground-truth data across the global energy complex.
The acquisition represents a significant step in Energy Aspects' growth strategy, combining its deep market expertise and proprietary analysis with Kayrros' satellite monitoring and geospatial intelligence capabilities. Together, the combined group aims to deliver a fundamentally stronger offering to clients across energy and financial markets, including the ability to measure and forecast energy demand through earth observation rather than relying on supply-side proxies alone. The deal follows Energy Aspects' prior acquisitions of OilX, INAS, TankWatch and others, reflecting the company's continued focus on building a data and technology-driven energy intelligence platform.
GCS's work focused on assessing the customer and commercial dimensions of the transaction, including Kayrros' client base, retention dynamics, competitive positioning and the strategic value of its capabilities to Energy Aspects' existing and prospective clients. This is the latest in a series of transactions on which GCS has supported Energy Aspects, having previously provided commercial due diligence on its acquisitions of OilX in 2023 and MMSA in 2024.
The GCS team on the transaction was led by James Tetherton and Matt Harrison.
"Having supported Energy Aspects across several acquisitions over recent years, it was a privilege to be involved as the business landed its most significant transaction yet. Kayrros has built genuinely world-class satellite intelligence capabilities, and the combination with Energy Aspects' market expertise creates something the industry has been missing. We look forward to seeing what the combined business delivers."
