GCS supports LDC during its acquisition of BCIS

GCS (formerly GRAPH Strategy) is pleased to have provided Commercial Due Diligence to LDC on its investment in BCIS, the UK’s leading cost benchmarking and valuation platform for the construction sector.
Originally established by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) in 1961, BCIS provides essential cost and valuation data to over 4,000 customers across construction, facilities management, and insurance. Its datasets underpin critical commercial decisions across the built environment, accessible through online tools, publications, and data licensing.
The investment sees BCIS become an independent company, with RICS retaining a minority shareholding. With LDC’s backing, BCIS will further develop its technology platform and expand its data coverage to deliver enhanced insight and accessibility for customers.
GCS’s work focused on assessing BCIS’s market position, customer reliance and satisfaction, competitive differentiation, and growth opportunities across construction data and analytics.
The GCS team on the transaction was led by James Tetherton and Matt Harrison.
“We were delighted to support LDC on this investment. BCIS has long been a trusted authority in construction data, and independence backed by LDC’s experience will allow it to innovate further while continuing to provide indispensable value to its customers.”
— James Tetherton, Founding Partner, GCS
